  • Sadly, no I didn’t, though I like to look inside closed-down chapels, even though the experience is always sad. Had the farmer been visible nearby, I would have asked. One chapel I looked in (Churton Primitive) still had the pulpit and it would have been easy to start holdings services there again. (Now it is a kitchen.)

    I just discovered this former Methodist chapel today whilst returning home from a day visit to North Yorkshire. Fascinating; did you by any chance have the opportunity to see inside? I wonder when it actually ceased to be a place of worship?
