A booklet published for the centenary of Branksome Ashley Road, records that Heatherlands Methodist Church opened in Pine Road in the 1880s (Pine Road is now Argyll Road) and that it was started as a mission to gypsies in the area. The final service was Harvest Festival 1972. There is no sign of the chapel now; it is an area of housing.
