Cranborne Wesleyan Chapel November 2022

The former chapel in Swan Street was particularly difficult to photograph!! According to Geoffrey Goodman (Closed Chapels) the chapel was built in 1847 and closed in 1967.

The Dorset Council Historic Towns Survey says ‘A Wesleyan chapel was founded in Cranborne in the 1820s and this may have been the earlier chapel reported to have stood by the stream in Cranborne prior to the construction of Cranborne Wesleyan Methodist Chapel on Swan Street in 1847. ‘
