The 1940 list of Methodist buildings records a Wesleyan Methodist chapel in Sturminster Marshall.  The former chapel is in the Market Place, on Front Lane.

You can see a picture of the  chapel from around 1900 here:-  http://ourtownstory.co.uk/iamtimbo/gallery/593/market-place-sturminster-marshall-c-1900s#gallery_img

The chapel is currently a holiday let.  The letting website tells us that “The Chapel is very dear to our hearts (our son was even baptized there)!! It was built in 1875 and was used for worship between 1876 and 2008,  … The Chapel was converted in 2010. /

  • I have at last had my registration on the site acknowledged and have posted a comment pointing out that this was the chapel not the school.

  • The website that has the photo from around 1900, describes the chapel as the village school. I have tried to contact the site to get this corrected but it seems to be ‘dead’ – hence this note for the benefit of anyone using the link.
