Newcastle Rye Hill People's Hall Wesleyan Methodist Mission

The Wesleyan Methodist Mission in Rye Hill, Newcastle operated from  1838-1930s.  The People’s Hall Building was still standing in the 1960s.

Bill Richardson found a wedding certificate for a wedding held in the People’s Hall in 1924.  The groom was the son of Leinan Gaunt whose wife, Isabella Pallister Richardson was Bill’s great aunt who died nine months before Bill was born!  Leinan Gaunt is the same man who was shown as a Trustee in Usworth in 1935.
