Exeter St Sidwell Street Wesleyan Methodist chapel

EXETER St Sidwell Street Wesleyan Methodist chapel .

Exeter St Sidwell Street Wesleyan Methodist interior and exterior.
Large square chapel in a rich Edwardian Baroque style with Art Nouveau details and glass.
The interior retains all original fittings, including screen and doors and is particularly interesting because of early use of reinforced concrete for structure and details.

  • I would like to contact Stephen Wild as it’s possible that my mother, Mrs Beatrice Maud Smith, stayed in or near St Sdewell’s Wesleyan church during the war – probably in 1941. She would have been escaping from the war in London, where she attended the Barnwell Road Mission when I was a child. I was born 29/04/1942. My brother Roy was born 02 or 04/ 1940.
