Rev William Richard Rogers 1857 to 1860

His life in Boston, Lincolnshire

At the end of summer 1857 William Richard was sent by Conference to Boston as the Superintendent Minister with Reverend James Sugden and Reverend Marshall Randles as his Junior Ministers.

On 20th July 1858 William Richard’s wife, Mary Ann, gave birth to another daughter Emily Alatheia Rogers at their home in Red Lion Street Boston. I hope to visit the Lincolnshire Archives where the baptismal records for the Centenary Wesleyan Chapel 1839-1972 have been deposited.

The chapel which William Richard knew has been replaced but occupies the same site.

Conference of 1858 decided that the Boston team should remain unchanged for the following year, however, in 1859, one of the Junior Ministers James Sugden moved on and his place was taken by Reverend Robert S. Ellis.
