Rev William Richard Rogers 1854 to 1857

His life in Tunstall

The Minutes of Conferences in 1854 and 1855 show that William Richard was now the Superintendent Minister and he was assisted by Reverend Gregory A. Page and Reverend John Crofts as a Supernumerary. In both years Brother Page was to reside at Kidsgrove.

On 6th November 1855 at Wesley Place, Turnstall, William Richard’s fifth son Charles Thorneycroft Rogers was born.

In 1856 Conference decided that William Richard should continue as Superintendent Minister but he no longer had a supernumerary minster. His Junior Minister was Reverend William B. Thorneloe. It was Brother Thorneloe who was to reside at Kidsgrove.

In the future I hope to go and look at this circuits records for this period and add more information to this page.
