Mary Ann Chalk

At Southampton, Mrs Mary Ann Chalk, aged 85 years. before she was 17 years of age she united herself with the Wesleyan Methodist Society, of which she continued a constant member to the close of her long life. She became the wife of the late Mr John Chalk, an excellent Local Preacher and Class Leader. In the early part of her career, she endured much persecution; but remained firm and unmoved. She was an humble, retiring Christian, thoroughly devoted to the Lord Jesus and his cause. She was remarkably industrious in her habits, and a pattern of every domestic virtue. She died as she lived, trusting alone in the merits of Jesus. RM
