• The novel Adam Bede, featuring Elizabeth Evans as Dinah Morris was set in the Staffordshire village of Ellastone, (located on the Ashbourne to Uttoxeter Road). The local parish church has developed an Adam Bede walk which guides the walker through significant sites featured in the novel.
