Elizabeth Gibbons and Great Homer Street Methodist Mission, Liverpool

Church Article from Great Homer St Liverpool 1939
Church Article from Great Homer St Liverpool 1930

Hi my name is Karen and the article is an obituary of my great great grand mum Elizabeth Gibbons who died at aged 93 in 1939. She had worked with women and the homeless for much of her life. In another column written by the vicar, he mentions her grandson in law Rev Harry Lockwood. I managed to find out from this site he died 1979. I believe the Mission which Mrs Gibbons attended on Great Homer Street closed in 1958. I’m looking for anyone who may have heard of her through family/friends or knows more about her work with her husband Joseph. Even anyone who remembers attending that same church before it closed or where the congregation went to church after that. From what I can understand Mr and Mrs Gibbons dedicated their lives to missionary work in Liverpool. The only other thing I know is she had 4 children. One of those had a daughter who married the Rev Harry Lockwood. I’m interested to know also if anyone else in my family line went into ministry. I am a Christian but my parents and grandparents were not.
If there is anyone who may have more info please do contact me!
