Clent, Stourbridge

Wesleyan Chapel committee, 1871

The building illustrated was designed as the John Thomas of Tonga Memorial Chapel, replacing an earlier chapel in Lower Clent in the Stourbridge Circuit. It was built to seat 92.

John Thomas (1797-1881) had been born in Clent, and was instrumental in evangelising Tonga.
