Stourton Wesleyan Methodist chapel

Stourton Wesleyan Methodist chapel

Martin Hannant tells us: “Methodism was introduced to this hamlet, in the parish of Whichford, Warwickshire, in 1804, when an old stable was converted into a place of worship.  A chapel was built a few years later in 1809 but it was sold in 1987”

The 1885 Ordnance Survey map show s the chapel – and on the 1974 map it is still labelled as Wesleyan Methodist chapel, some 42 years after Methodist union!
