Ponterwyd Chapel, Ceredigion

A chapel was built in the village of Ponterwyd in 1800 and rebuilt in 1821. It stands at NGR SN 7488 8090 and was built as a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel. In 1854 it was extended and is the Chapel we see today. By 1889 the chapel had become Primitive Methodist but the change date is unclear. This has happened again in more recent times as the chapel is now Welsh Calvinistic and again I am unclear as to when this happened. A number of pictures are available on the Coflein Welsh Heritage database.
