Designed by Samuel Hancorn of Newport, Monmouthshire, this building could seat 721 in 1873, but at the time of the 1940 Statistical Returns, this had been reduced to 406. It has now been demolished.
Samuel Hancorn had a short life (1837-1868), but designed a number of Wesleyan Methodist chapels in South Wales and the Dr Coke Memorial School in Brecon.
