Thanks to Phil Draper for passing on the photographs of the former Wesleyan Methodist Mission Hall in Compton Dundon.  The Hall was located on Ham Lane and in 2022 is in residential use.  That said, it still carries its 1887 datestone, together with outlines of the previous chapel windows.

The Mission Hall is still marked on the 1928 Ordnance Survey map which implies it was active then.

It is also included in the 1940 list of Methodist buildings, which tells us that is was stone built, seated 100 people on forms and had one other Sunday School room.  It was part of the Somerset Mission.

What’s the story?
