Harrowden Wesleyan Chapel

Bedfordshire

Harrowden is a hamlet in the parish of Eastcotts. It is best known as the birthplace of John Bunyan.

The Wesleyan Chapel at Harrowden was built in 1904 and was part of the Bedford St Mary’s Circuit. Kelly’s Directory of 1914 states that there was ‘sittings for 100 persons’. The Chapel was extended in 1933.

In 1969, now part of the Bedford South Methodist Circuit, with membership reduced, Harrowden Chapel closed.
