Langwathby Chapel was built in 1860 at a cost of £218. In 1873 it had 50 free seats and 62 for letting. When visited on 25.4.2015 it was in use as a Methodist place of worship. (Cumbria Archive Service, Carlisle DFCM/1/2/82-97, DFCM4/1/8)
