This Chapel was built of stone in 1838 at a cost of £185. The date plaque which is unusual in its use of Italic and Roman numerals reads “Wesleyan Methodist Chapel MDCCCXXXVIII”.
In 1851 there were 100 sittings, all free. There were 78 sittings in 1873. Permission for the alterations and improvements to the value of £110 was granted in 1901-2. In 1940 the chapel had 80 sittings, all on forms, and no additional rooms.
When the chapel was closed on 15 May 1973, it was described as a remote wayside chapel. There was another Methodist Church (ie West Hall) 1½ miles away.
Nickies Hill chapel is now in residential use.
